William Carter, III is a 10 year old 5th grader at Elsie Whitlow Stokes Community Freedom Public Charter School in Washington, D.C. William has placed first in several tournaments this year and has lead his team to numerous tournament victories throughout the year. William is an outstanding chess player, and has just begun to scratch the surface of his immense talent and potential.

Satiya Ewing-Boyd is a 12 year old 7th grade student at the Washington D.C. International School (DCI). Satiya successfully lead her team to two city championships, a Mid-Atlantic Regional championship and numerous other tournament victories throughout the 2013-2014 school year. Her exceptional leadership and outstanding play pushed her team to the highest levels of success throughout the year. Her calming voice and reassuring presence are both missed and irreplacable.

Congratulations

Congratulations

On Saturday, February 8, 2020 The Zulus were back in action at the 9th Annual Baltimore City Chess Championship. 

In true program fashion, the members of Bravo Zulu Chess played very well. The 4th and 5th grade team from Shepherd Elementary in Washington, DC took 1st place in the Under 1000 section. Congratulations to these young people for having another strong performance!
